At The Music Klub, we deliver structured, music-based intervention programmes that support children and young people to overcome barriers to learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
We use music, creativity, and relational mentoring as structured tools for intervention, helping young people build confidence, improve engagement, and develop the emotional and social skills needed to succeed in education and beyond.
Our focus is not on music as an end in itself, but as a consistent delivery method for behaviour change, emotional regulation, and re-engagement with learning.
OUR IMPACT IN SCHOOLS AND SETTINGS
Our interventions are designed to create clear, measurable improvements in both behaviour and learning outcomes.
Across our programmes, schools typically report improvements in:
-
behaviour for learning and classroom engagement
-
emotional regulation and self-management
-
attendance and punctuality
-
participation in learning activities
-
relationships between pupils and staff
-
progression back into mainstream learning pathways
We focus on sustained change, not short-term engagement.
CORE OUTCOME AREAS
-
Emotional Regulation & Wellbeing
Supporting young people to understand and manage emotions reduces escalation, withdrawal, and reactive behaviour in school settings. -
Engagement with Learning
Improving accessibility for disengaged pupils and supporting reconnection with structured learning environments through music-based intervention. -
Behaviour for Learning
Developing routines, focus, and positive behaviour patterns that improve classroom participation and reduce disruptions. -
Relationships & Trust
Building consistent, relational mentoring approaches that strengthen trust with adults and improve engagement with pastoral and safeguarding systems. -
Progression Pathways
Supporting re-engagement with education, training, and positive future pathways by improving confidence, motivation, and decision-making.
WHO WE SUPPORT
Our programmes are designed for children and young people who may be experiencing:
-
SEMH-related behavioural or emotional challenges
-
ASN / additional support needs affecting learning
-
disengagement or withdrawal from education
-
low confidence, motivation, or self-esteem
-
difficulty engaging with traditional pastoral or classroom support
-
increased risk of exclusion or reduced participation
We provide targeted intervention for pupils who need a different approach to re-engage successfully with education.
HOW OUR INTERVENTIONS WORK
Each programme uses structured music-based delivery alongside relational mentoring to support meaningful, sustained change.
We focus on:
-
identifying barriers to learning and engagement
-
building trust and consistent relationships
-
using music as a structured communication tool
-
supporting emotional regulation and reflection
-
reinforcing positive behaviour and decision-making
-
providing feedback loops with school staff
Our interventions are designed to integrate directly into existing pastoral, inclusion, SEND/ASN, and safeguarding systems.
EVIDENCING IMPACT
We work with schools to support clear and practical impact tracking, including:
-
behaviour and engagement improvements
-
attendance and participation tracking
-
qualitative feedback from staff and pupils
-
progress against individual intervention targets
-
reintegration into mainstream learning environments
This approach ensures schools can clearly demonstrate value and outcomes for funding and accountability purposes.
PARTNERSHIP APPROACH
We work in close partnership with schools, local authorities, youth organisations, and community settings across the UK and Scotland.
Our role is to act as a specialised intervention provider, supporting, not replacing, existing school systems.
We co-design delivery with staff to ensure alignment with:
-
behaviour and inclusion strategies
-
safeguarding frameworks
-
SEND / ASN provision
-
whole-school improvement priorities
PILOT PROGRAMME OPTION
Start with a Targeted Cohort
We offer pilot delivery models for schools wishing to trial interventions with a small group of identified pupils.
This allows schools to:
-
test impact before wider rollout
-
target high-priority pupils effectively
-
align with current improvement priorities
-
evidence outcomes for funding and commissioning decisions
Discuss Your School’s Needs
If your school is supporting pupils who are struggling with engagement, behaviour, or emotional regulation, we can provide a structured, music-based intervention designed to support measurable change.
